Ladies

Passing by the high tree where the men gather every afternoon is something she has carefully prepared for a long time. Since she was a little girl her mother would add a new ring to her neck every year and she has traded her skills for bracelets to cover her arms with: one to bring her good luck, one to keep her safe from the evil eye, one to attract the affectionate eyes of the man she likes, some more on her ankles to make her steps sound like music to the eager ear. And now, as she passes by the high tree, she doesn't even have to turn her look towards him to know he will be following.

Text by Selma Dragos

Another two works made lately that continue the "women" series.

Acrylic on wood.

Dimensions: 50/50 cm, framed.

Ladies

One of the games I used to like as a little girl was dressing up like a lady. What makes a lady? She certainly is taller than a girl – all the ladies we knew: our mothers, our grandmothers, our neighbours. So a girl will need long legs or at least high heels and long dresses (the short ones came a lot later when we wanted to look like women, which are a different breed from ladies) in order to be a lady. Then, in order to look like a lady, a girl needs a hat – she has to climb on a chair (or even two chairs on top of each other) to reach the shelf where her mother keeps the most fluffy hat she owns (she's never been seen wearing it, so it must be really precious). Then she only need a mirror or, even better, some friends to admire her attire.

Text written by my good artist friend Selma Dragos. Thanks Selma!

These are the works I worked on lately. I'm discovering the magic of women in painting!
They are made with acrylic on wood.
Dimensions: 55/120 cm

Happy Easter to all of you and a big hug to all of my followers!

Exercise of imagination

I've played with Photoshop this weekend on some images that I took this November at a scrap depot. And I wanted to share with you the results. This isn't my favorite activity but the results really help me dive deeper into my world.

I just made an exercise of imagination and composition that made me an enormous pleasure.

I love the colors of these pictures!

The objects behind the camera hide a lot of stories and secrets.

Angel

This is my last week's artwork made for one of my school projects. I'm studying masters this year and the next year!
I'm trying all kind of different techniques! I love to experiment!
This is a mixed media work!
I've used a print, colored pencils and acrylic paint.
The dimensions of this artwork is 70/100 cm and it was made on painting panel.
I've decided to use this painting technique to prepare a solo exhibition sometime this year.

Hi! I want to share with you the surprise the lovely Krisztina, made me today!
She honored me with the Kreative Blogger Award! Thanks Krisztina!

To comply with the rules I pass the award away to five bloggers that I admire and that inspire me. I find them really talented in what they do! Congratulations my friends!
